I wanted to catch some of my thoughts and experiences while flying -
especially during the whole learning to fly process.
I wish I had started this process from the start - but I didn't.
So I started keeping this journal with my first solo. As I have time I
will go back and try to fill in some memories from the earlier flights while I
can still remember them each and keep them separate. You think you will
remember it all and keep it separate - but I thought the same thing when I
started as an EMT and later a paramedic. But time is the ultimate solvent
- it makes everything run together - so hopefully I can catch some of this
before it's lost to pre-history.
But now I have done it. I passed my check ride and now I am a PPSEL -
Private Pilot Single Engine Land. I've also finished this student journal.
Moving forward I'm not going to commit to recording every single flight I take
but I am going to make an effort to record at the more interesting of these in
my pilot journal. I suspect as time
goes on the bar of "more interesting" will be progressively raised - but for now
it is pretty low.
